InfoWorld Verizon's says 4G LTE service back to normal Verizon Wireless said its nationwide 4G LTE network service returned to normal Wednesday night after a technical issue was resolved. In a statement issued shortly before 9 a.m. ET today, Verizon gave no explanation for the problem that it said developed late Tuesday and was resolved by Wednesday evening. Customers mainly reported intermittent or unavailable 4G services or said their 4G devices were operating at 3G speeds, about one-tenth as fast as 4G.

For me, it's Research In Motion's iconic QWERTY keypad, or at the very least the modified "SureType" keyboard, which crams a couple of letter keys on each number key. So it's a little jarring to get a load of RIM's new, pumped-up Pearl 3G — the first BlackBerry ever with a standard alphanumeric keypad, same as on many garden-variety cell phones.

All About Symbian Sisvel acquires over 450 Nokia patents Sisvel International, a specialist company in managing intellectual property and maximizing the value of patent rights, has bought more than 450 patents originally filed by Nokia. 350 of these cover essential parts of the 2G (GSM), 3G (UMTS/WCDMA) and 4G (LTE) technologies. The other 100 or so cover video encoding optimization technologies. The acquired patents remain subject to certain prior agreements and Nokia is pre-licensed for all the patents as part of the acquisition.
