Bluetooth IPRs (Intellectual Property Rights)

IPR's have important significance within Bluetooth. IPR stands for
Intellectual Property Rights. Several Companies are producing designs for
Bluetooth systems. These designs can be incorporated into System ASICs or
FPGAs, and hence into products. Since the designers have the intellectual
property rights to these Bluetooth solutions anyone wishing to use them
pays a license fee. Buying in Bluetooth IPR can be faster and cheaper than
designing everything yourself.
Charles Sturman gave a talk on this subject at the IIR Geneva Bluetooth
conference (1999).
