Link Manager Involvement in Inquiry/Paging ?
Original Post: Questions - Link Manager Protocol and Base Band (SIG
Forum ) Date: 2000-06-16
Even those the LMP layer uses the results of
inquiry/paging operations, i.e. it sets up and communicates with devices
which a baseband connection has been established to, the Link Manager
plays no part in these operations. Instead the HCI (if present, as in some
profiles it is optional) directly instructs the Baseband to do these
inquiry/paging instructions. These procedures take place in the baseband.
The LMP is used for direct setup and link administration.
There is no PDU's for Inquiry and Paging , as these
are baseband operations, not Link Manager messages. In Inquiry and Paging,
there is only an ID packet (with Access Code) that is transmitted. the
link as such is not set up yet. |
