Why Palowireless?
Modern
wireless technology has come a
long way since Marconi's early radio transmissions.
Hundreds
of millions of people use mobile phones.
They can exchange text messages using services such as SMS,
they can browse special web sites using WAP or i-mode.
Wireless earpieces and microphones
can communicate with the mobile phone via Bluetooth
short-range radio. All the while the trusty Global
Positioning System can locate you to within a few meters.
There
is no single set of standards or
technologies which covers the whole field. There are electrical
and electronic standards, standards for components,
standards for transmitting and receiving
signals, standards for page markup languages
and protocols for moving the pages
around.
We
track the ever-changing wireless world to keep wireless professionals
informed of the latest resources available on the web. The
producers of this site work in the communications and IT arena. Every
week we search the world for news, events
and products in the wireless data
world so you don't have to.
History
The Wireless Resource Center was established in June 1999 by Palo
Pacific Technology Pty Ltd at www.palopt.com.au
as an internet resource for Bluetooth, WAP and wireless technology and
marketing. The site has grown to include all facets of digital wireless
networking and now serves tens of thousands of wireless professionals
every month.
The site was moved to www.palowireless.com
in September 2000.
In November 2000 we acquired and integrated the InfoTooth Bluetooth
site.
In January 2001 we acquired and integrated the SoftTooth Bluetooth site.
The site was extensively expanded during 2002 and continues to grow.
