Blue2Net

Blue2Net was born in March 2002. Blue2Net AB recently purchased the assets of Blue2Space AB, a company started in the spring of 2000 that developed a number of products for use in Bluetooth networks.

The activities within Blue2Net AB have been reorganized during the fall of 2002 in order to concentrate more heavily on Bluetooth network infrastructure. Blue2Net will continue to market the developed products which Blue2Space produced, but will focus more on network solutions, both hardware and software. Development will be both for Bluetooth but even for other wireless systems, such as 802.11.

Directional and Omni-directional antennas.

Directional antenna
The directional antenna, developed in-house, is specially designed for long range Bluetooth communication. Its higher gain extends the range of a Bluetooth cell from the nominal 10-100 m to 250-1300 meters and even further (depending on the surrounding environment) without increasing the output power. With its 35º horizontal and 30º vertical transmissions, you can cover a large area at a distance. Using a Class-2 Bluetooth radio, we achieved communication beyond 1300 meters.

Omni-directional antenna
The omni-directional antenna, also developed in-house, is specially designed for medium range Bluetooth communication. Its 360º-area coverage extends the range of a Bluetooth cell from the nominal 10meters to 48+ meters and even further (depending on the surrounding environment) without increasing the output power. Using a Class-1 Bluetooth radio chip, we expect to reach well over 100 meters.
