PC Simulator environment
All basic development, for example source editing and module testing is
done in the Windows environment on a PC simulator platform. Microsoft
Visual Studio is used as the tool for this.
Compiler environment
The Bluetooth Enabler Platform includes a GNU compiler environment used
when compiling to the target platform. No major investments have to be made
to get access to a development environment.
Sample application
The system is delivered with a sample application for the Windows simulator
platform and the ARM7/eCos platform. Use these to create your own
application specific build-files.
Serial Port
Adapter
The Serial Port Adapter is the world ’s first Bluetooth product that
enables cable replacement in industrial applications. It allows any device
with an RS-232 port to communicate wirelessly. No software installation is
needed and no changes in the existing system are required. Just unplug and

The Serial Port Adapter is used in any application currently using an

OEM Hardware
Module
The OEM Hardware Module is a complete hardware for Bluetooth
communication. It includes an Ericsson Bluetooth module and an ARM7 TDMI
controller which can execute the Bluetooth stack. The development board is
used for easy interfacing of the necessary software debug utilities to the
OEM Hardware Module. It is possible to choose between an external or an
internal surface mounted antenna.
The OEM Hardware Module is a complete hardware for Bluetooth communication.
It includes an Ericsson Bluetooth module and an ARM7 TDMI controller which
can execute the Bluetooth stack. The development board is used for easy
interfacing of the necessary software debug utilities to the OEM Hardware
Module. It is possible to choose between an external or an internal surface
mounted antenna.
The interfaces of the OEM Hardware Module are:
- One 2 x 20 0.050” socket for top or bottom entry
- A board layout adapted to the 2 x 30 “one-piece interface” on the
development board
- A yellow LED for general purpose
- If the external antenna option is selected there is also a SMA type
antenna connector
The interfaces except those for interfacing the OEM Hardware Module on
the development board are:
- RS-232 UART for data communication
- RS-422/485 UART for data communication
- RS-232 UART for debug purposes
- JTAG-connector for debug purposes
- 4 push buttons, one used for reset and three for general purposes
- 3 general purpose LEDs; red, green and multi color
- 9 - 30 V DC power connector

WEB Enabler
The fully approved and ready to use Bluetooth WEB Enabler/OEM Bluetooth
WEB Enabler turns your product into a device with a WEB-based user
interface. The user interface, which you can use a standard HTML tool to
create by yourself, is accessed from products like a PDA or a laptop using
a wireless Bluetooth connection. This simplifies maintenance and improves
productivity. Use a standard HTML tool to create your own customized WEB
pages and store them in the File System in the Bluetooth WEB Enabler. You
can download the WEB pages to your device using a standard FTP client or
they can be downloaded initially when they are generated in the Bluetooth
WEB Enabler.
Support for server side Javascript and Active Server Pages (ASP) allows
you to create dynamic WEB pages. The WEB pages may include dynamic
information retrieved from the Bluetooth WEB Enabler using either a
built-in or a customized protocol.
