Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) Carrier Network Equipment Spending 2008-2012 Forecast and Analysis

This IDC study presents fixed-line and mobile equipment capex forecasts for the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ region from 2007 to 2012. Its key features include forecasts for 12 APEJ markets — Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, the People's Republic of China (PRC), Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

"In spite of the economic downturn, APEJ as a region will continue to witness year-over-year (YoY) in 2009 in terms of networking equipment expenditures," says Bill Rojas, research director, Communications Research, IDC Asia/Pacific. He further adds, "Although the capex spending of most APEJ countries will remain flat or decline in 2009, India and the PRC will continue to show robust growth due to 2G coverage expansion and 3G buildout.
