Nordic CIO Survey, 2011: Enterprise Communications and Collaboration This IDC survey indicates a continued strong will to invest in the Nordic countries. Focus is still the use IT for improving existing products, services and processes, even though a more expansive mode slowly is gaining ground. This survey finds that the Nordic unified communications (UC) market is evolving since the previous financial crisis. Mobility and unified communications and collaboration (UC&C) are among the top 4 IT investment priorities. "Nordic enterprises are keen to invest in mobility and unified communications solutions. Tablets are increasingly part of the UC&C scope for Nordic companies as well as cloud services for these features. Traditional usage of voice/telephony and email communications continues to be important, but the increase and focus of investments are in voice and videoconferencing, document sharing, presence, and instant messaging in particular on mobile devices," said Jason Andersson, research manager, IDC Nordic and European Telecom and Networking.
