There is a new book out by Mari Matsunaga called The
i-Mode Incident which describes how the world's leading mobile business
model was developed. Unfortunately it is currently only available in Japanese.
But, hopefully, if i-Mode does take off it will become available in English.

Strategy - Why Doesn't the World Catch Up? - book published in December 2000
by Takeshi Natsuno, one of the three central figures in the development of i-Mode.
MobileMediaJapan states: "...he talks about every aspect of of the NTT
DoCoMo i-mode strategy. Packed with lots of analytical data about i-mode."
The book apparently deals with more technical details of i-Mode. Only available
in Japanese but talk is it will be coming out in English later.
