Reasons for Using a DV Packet

Original Post: DV Packet (eGroups Msg. ) Date: 2000-09-21

Question

Within the Bluetooth Baseband layer there are two physical links ACL and SCO. Since SCO mainly carries voice under what circumstances would a DV packet (carrying voice and data) be used?

Answer

A DV packet would typically be used to send a LMP control data over an SCO link in order to cause as little disruption to a real time audio (or whatever) connection as possible.Basically you would use a DV packet when you have critical data to send but it overlaps with a voice packet
