Number of Slaves

Original Post: PICONET LIMITATIONS? (SIG Forum)    Date: 2000-06-21

If one piconet is limited to 7 slaves what do I do if I need to run 100 slaves? More masters?

One way is to place slaves in park mode. You can have max. 255 or practically unlimited number of parked slaves for a piconet. Note, however, that park mode is only for ACL-links. Another way is to have many piconets. You have then to take in account interference's, conflicts,... between them, increased retransmissions and degraded data rate.
